Township of Uxbridge

The Township of Uxbridge provides transportation, recreation, protection and general government services to 21,000 residents and serves thousands of visitors and tourists outside the community. With 100% of the Municipality located within Oak Ridges Moraine or the Greenbelt, the Township is designated as the Trail Capital of Canada and its municipal parks and 30kms of Township-managed trails connect to the extensive local, regional, provincial, and national trail systems. There are currently over 300kms of interconnected trails offering recreational activity that supports the health and well-being of residents.

The Recreation Department offers the Mood Walks program as part of recreational programming. Information about registration can be found on the Township website under ‘Recreation’ at www.uxbridge.ca. Mood Walks is targeted towards the needs of the registrants and take place outdoors on Township trails, in Township parks, on the local trail network or in Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park. Walks are available for all ages and abilities. Mood Walks take place once per week as part of a series of walks. Participants will walk with others in a group and experience nature and participate in group discussions aimed to promote overall health and well-being. Space is limited, and registrants are asked to commit to the program in its entirety for maximum benefit.
